About the project

On 21.12.2021. Lubelski Ośrodek Samopomocy (Lublin Self-help Centre) with its registered office in Lublin, 14 Grodzka Street, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Beneficiary’, signed a contract for co-financing of the project entitled: ‘Programme for Development of Vocational Guidance in Poland’ with the Foundation for the Development of the Education System – the Operator of PROGAM EDUKACJA, with its registered office in Warsaw, 142A Jerozolimskie Avenue, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Programme Operator’.

The amount of funding under the agreement is EUR 147,267.00. The project is financed in 85% from the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and in 15% from the state budget. The project was implemented in the period from 01.05.2022r to 30.04.2024.

1 Project objective

The main objective of the project is to develop career guidance for career counsellors in Poland, based on the proven Icelandic model. The project aims to increase the effectiveness and quality of career counselling by providing modern tools, techniques and strategies used in Iceland.

2 Main assumptions

– Adaptation of the Icelandic Model: To analyse and adapt best practices from the Icelandic model of career guidance to the Polish context.
– Training of career counsellors: Organisation of training and workshops for career counsellors on new career guidance methods and tools.
– Technology Support: Introduction of modern technological tools to support career guidance, such as online learning platforms.
– Monitoring and Evaluation: Regular monitoring of the progress of the project and evaluation of its effects on the basis of defined indicators.

3 Key Project Elements


1. Analysis of the Icelandic Model:

◦ Survey of Practices: A thorough examination of the practices of the Icelandic career guidance system, including the working methods of counsellors, the tools used in the counselling process and the support strategies for people receiving counselling.
◦ Study Visits: Organisation of study visits for Polish career counsellors in Iceland to learn directly about the model there.

2. Training and Workshops:

◦ Training Programme: Development of a comprehensive training programme, including counselling techniques, work psychology, individual and group working methods and the use of technology in career counselling.
◦ Certification: Introduce a certification scheme for career counsellors.

3 Technology Support:

◦Educational Platform: Creation of an online platform for career counsellors to access training materials, diagnostic tools.
Expected Results

– Improved Qualifications: To increase the competencies and qualifications of career counsellors in Poland.
– Increase Efficiency: Improving the effectiveness of career counselling, measured by the career success of clients using counselling.
– Modern Tools: Introduction of modern tools and technologies to support the career counselling process.
-Better Career Matching: Increase the degree of career matching of guidance clients, which will contribute to their greater professional and personal satisfaction.
